Obituary

Pittston – Arnold Earl Searles, 69, of Pittston, Maine, passed away on August 4, 2025. He was born on July 8, 1956, in Farmington, Maine. Arnold graduated from Mt. Blue High School in 1975 and furthered his education at NMVTI. He proudly served in the US Army from 1977 to 1980, followed by a year in the US Army Reserves. After his military service, Arnold worked for Forster Manufacturing Company for ten years. Additionally, Arnold dedicated 33 years to Bath Iron Works as a sheet metal fabricator, where he contributed to building ships, showcasing his hardworking and meticulous nature. Beyond his professional life, Arnold was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping, passions that allowed him to enjoy Maine's beautiful landscapes to the fullest. He was a man with a big heart, described as awesome, handsome and hardworking by those who knew him best. Arnold's legacy is carried on by his loving spouse, Jennifer Searles; his children, Sean Searles and wife Kandi, and Erin Searles; his stepchildren, Abbie Barker and her partner Matt Pimental, Betsy Bachelder and her husband Tim, William Barker and his wife Carrie, Shannon Williams and her husband Jim, and Carrie Lacasse and her husband Bryan; brothers, Ray Searles, Ronald Searles and his wife Dennifer, and Daryl Searles; several cousins, uncles, aunts and numerous nieces and nephews. Arnold's joy was multiplied by his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will miss him dearly. Arnold was predeceased by his sister, Wanda Searles; and his brother Archie Searles. Arnold left a special message that he wanted everyone to know: "Thank you all for being a part of my life" Arnold's life will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew him, leaving a lasting imprint of his generous spirit and love for life.
