Obituary

STRONG – Brad Barrie peacefully passed away Monday September 30, 2024, at Maine Medical Center. He was born June 22, 1937, to Thomas and Ida Barrie at home in Pelham, NH. He attended Pelham schools until his father took ill and he stayed home to help raise poultry for market. Brad entered the Army in 1958 and during this time he was placed on standby to be deployed during the Berlin Crisis of 1961. He was honorably discharged. Brad loved all outdoor activities – hunting, fishing, fly tying, snowmobiling, snow shoeing and having a garden. His dream was to someday have a farm and raise goats, chickens and farm the land. He was employed many years at Hamel Brothers in Lowell, MA as an autobody repair man. He loved repairing corvettes bringing them back to their original beauty. Brad married Rhona Proulx October 12, 1984, and they briefly lived in Pelham, NH. Seeking a quieter way of life, they began their adventure to find the perfect spot to live. They found that spot in Strong. Brad had fulfilled his dream. He was predeceased by his parents and sister. Brad is survived by his loving wife, Rhona Barrie and his loving pal "Miss Bailey" At Brad's request there will be no services.
