Obituary

Temple - Carol Marion Andrews (Charles), aged 87, passed away on May 16, 2025, in Farmington, Maine. Born on May 4, 1938, Carol was a vibrant and spirited individual, always engaged in various activities with enthusiasm and vigor. Carol graduated from Kennett High School and embarked on a fulfilling career in the accounting and business sector, skillfully balancing her professional responsibilities with the demands of raising five children. Her work ethic and dedication to her family were commendable, leaving a lasting impact on both her colleagues and loved ones. A woman of many interests, Carol was particularly passionate about reading, often finishing a book in just a few days. She also possessed a remarkable talent for crafts such as cross-stitching, crocheting, and knitting, creating many beautiful pieces that her family will treasure. Carol's life was rich with personal connections. She is survived by her sons, Mark and his wife Angie of Columbia, SC, Darren and his wife Wendy of Summerville, SC, Neil and his wife Teresa of Bridgton, ME; and her daughter, Michelle Andrews of Temple, ME. Carol was a beloved grandmother to Michael, Maggie, Garry, Kenneth, Jasmine, and Brandon, and a great-grandmother to Jada, Hayden, Riley, and an expected great-grandson, Lewis in August. She also leaves behind her brother, John Charles of Fryeburg, ME, and sister, Jean Hamilton of North Conway, NH; along with many nephews and nieces. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Esther Charles; her husband, Gerry Andrews; her son Darryl; and other relatives. Carol expressed her wish not to have a service. Respecting her wishes, there will be an internment ceremony at the #4 cemetery in Lovell Maine on Sunday, September 28th at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, Carol's love for sports and her great nieces' and nephews' activities inspired her family to suggest donations to local recreation programs. Contributions can be made to support a child's participation in sports and recreational activities by contacting town officials. Carol's legacy is not just in the lives she touched but also in the vibrant energy and love she brought into the world. Her memory will continue to inspire and influence all who knew her. Arrangements are under the care of Dan and Scott's Cremation and Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington, Maine, where memories, photos and condolences may be shared at dsfuneral.com.
