Obituary

Chesterville – Carolyn Elizabeth (Stevens) Heath, passed away peacefully, early Saturday morning, May 3, 2025, surrounded by her sister, Louise W. (Stevens) Kilponen, her daughters, Thaylene and Muriel, her son, Daniel, her son in law, Andrew, and "The Dog" (Dr. Witherby) as she turned her eyes upon Jesus and looked full in His wonderful face and the things of earth grew strangely dim, in the light of His Glory and Grace. She was the daughter of Fred E. Stevens and Eva L. (Parker) Sleeper. Born at home, in Vienna, Maine, on November 9, 1935, Carloyn was the fifth child of eight children and the mother of eight children (David A., Roger L., Daniel S., Michael E., Thaylene M., Maylene A., Thayne E. Jr., and Muriel J.) She attended the North Vienna Elementary School, the Sevey Corner Elementary School, the Vienna Elementary School and graduated from Farmington High School. Carolyn married Thayne E. Heath on July 24, 1954, and celebrated 56 years of marriage until his death on March 19, 2011. They shared their vows at the Farmington Falls Church of the Nazarene, where Carolyn was a member throughout her life. Carolyn worked at Fosters Manufacturing, Gee Whiz Egg Farm and the Farmington Motel. She worked at home taking in laundry, did babysitting and worked as a domestic housekeeper for many in the area. She did a variety of crafts such as Christmas ornaments, and homemade Valentine's heart boxes filled with goodies for her children. She sewed lovely bedspreads, curtains and clothes for her children as well. Carolyn loved to make things beautiful, she wall papered, painted and rearranged frequently. She enjoyed putting puzzles together and playing games. Most of the family has enjoyed playing cards or greedy with her at least once. As children (many years ago), we enjoyed playing outdoor games with mom such as "tag", "mother may I", "red light green light" and "Simon says", these were some of our best memories of home. Carolyn is survived by her sister, Louise W. (Stevens) Kilponen of Livermore (formally of Vienna); her sons, Daniel S. Heath of Farmington, Michael E. Heath and wife Debra of Sanford, and Thayne E. Heath Jr. and wife Dorothy of Wells.; her daughters, Thaylene M. (Heath) Bernard and husband Andrew of Livermore, and Muriel J. (Heath) Neil and husband Jeff of Farmington; 28 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins.
