New Sharon – Chester Williams, 63, of New Sharon, Maine, passed away unexpectedly at home on May 7, 2026. Chester was born in Farmington, Maine, on September 14, 1962, to Norman and Florence (Webber) Williams. Growing up, he liked to spend time at Aunt Betty's, help with chores, draw hot rod cars and houses, and was always inventing things with his cousins. Chester graduated from Mt. Blue High School and continued his love of automotives by taking welding classes after graduation; this would help him with restoring cars. Chester most recently worked for Archie's Waste Disposal but has a career history of welding and mechanics at Norm's Custom Exhaust. He made friends anywhere he went or worked and would help wherever he could. On July 28, 2012, Chester married Monica Kern in New Sharon, Maine. He enjoyed building models, drawing and could be found on Sunday afternoons on the couch watching NASCAR (NAPCAR). Chester is predeceased by his father, Norman Williams. Chester is survived by his mother Florence, wife Monica, daughter Elizabeth Edwards (Nick), stepchildren Rachel Howell (Rich), Rebecca Trafton (Lance) and Michael Gould, brother Dan Williams (Debbie), sister Catherine Williams, many grandchildren, two great-granddaughters, a great-grandson on the way and several nieces and nephews.
