Obituary

Temple - Cindy Lee Goughnour, born on September 29, 1957, in Damariscotta, Maine, was a woman of extraordinary kindness, creative spirit, and dedication to her community. She had a passion for crafting, be it plastic canvas creations, jewelry, beading, or crocheting, which was not merely a hobby but an integral part of her spirit. Whether she was designing something for her friends or family, her unconditional love was woven into every piece she created. Cindy's creativity wasn't confined to her crafting. She used her bachelor's degree from the University of Farmington to serve her community. She spent some of her working years at New Beginnings in Lewiston and doing in-home support before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Cindy was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her life was a testament to the adage, "Home is where the heart is." Having lived in Damariscotta, Lewiston, Madawaska, Farmington, and even Florida for a time, Cindy made every place she resided a home filled with love and laughter. She is survived by her children: her daughter Tammie Black and partner Andrew Hinkley; their children Austin Hinkley and his partner Brooklynn. Their children (great-grandchildren) are Grayson, Paityn, and Braelynn; Cayden Hinkley and his partner Jenessa; Mason Hinkley; and Haven Hinkley. Her son Joseph Black and his wife Julie and their children Evany Black, Jacob Black, Miley Black, Jazlynn Burwell, and Gabby. She is survived by her sisters, Teresa Lavender, Annie Moulton, and Wanda Moulton, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Cindy was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Goughnour, and her parents, Earl and Phyllis Moulton. She is also predeceased by her siblings, Rita, Pat Michaud, and Bud Moulton, and her nephew, Matthew. Despite these significant losses, Cindy remained a beacon of strength and resilience. As Maya Angelou beautifully expressed, "I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it." Cindy's spirit, her love, and her impact will not be reduced by her passing but will continue to resonate in the hearts of all those she touched. Arrangements are under the care of Dan and Scott's Cremation and Funeral Service, 488 Farming Falls Road, Farmington, Maine, where memories, photos, and condolences may be shared at dsfuneral.com.
