Obituary

Kingfield - Clifford Stone, a faithful servant of the Lord, passed away on March 29, 2025, surrounded by loved ones who will forever miss his tender heart, infectious laugh, and the warmth of his presence. Clifford was born and raised in a family that cherished music, and it was through this shared love that he developed his own deep passion for playing. At the age of 14, he began playing the drums in the family band and later performed with the American Legion Band. His mother, a talented piano and violin teacher, introduced him to a life of music—and it was in this environment that he met the love of his life, Doris. They married shortly after Doris graduated, embarking on a life of love and service together. Clifford was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He and Doris raised three children, and their family grew to include six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly. His commitment to his family was unwavering, and his legacy will live on through them. In his lifetime, Clifford also answered the call to serve others, including doing mission work in Haiti, where he touched many lives with his compassion and faith. He held a special love and respect for his pastor, Tom Dubois, and his wife Betsy of Western Mountains Baptist Church, who were important spiritual leaders and friends in his life. A heartfelt thank you goes to the nurses at FMH, whom Clifford lovingly referred to as "angels." Their care and devotion during his final days made him feel truly blessed and deeply cared for. Clifford's legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him. He is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior, where his laughter and joy are no longer confined by earthly bounds. A celebration of Clifford's life will be held at Western Mountains Baptist Church on April 19th at 1pm, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and share in the comfort of God's promises. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to His Hands Support Ministries in his memory.
