Obituary

Chesterville – With sadness in our hearts, we, the family of Conley R. Gould Jr, age 70, of Chesterville, share the news of his passing on July 27, 2025, at Andwell Hospice House in Auburn, Maine. Conley was born on September 14, 1954, the first born to Conley Sr. and Glennis (Doble) Gould. Conley was a PROUD son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, Airman, EMT/Paramedic, Firefighter, Law Enforcement Officer, craftsman and builder, truck driver, flower delivery driver, school bus driver, instructor, and jack of all trades if you will. Above all that, he was a friend to all. He was infamous for being the kind and caring paramedic that would bring his patient to where they needed to go for care, and after his shift, return to their residences to work on odd jobs for them, to make life easier, just because he could. "You gotta know that shi* when you're King!" Conley gave nearly 40 years to working on an ambulance, from being an attendant to paramedic, earning the EMS Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018, covering all of Franklin County all in a day's work and transporting throughout New England. Prior to those years, Conley graduated from Mt. Abram High School in 1973 and enlisted in the Air Force in January 1974. On July 27, 1974, he married Kentucky (Charles) Gould. That August he left for Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines and later was stationed at Loring Air Force Base in Northern Maine, serving in weapons maintenance until September 1977. Between Conley's day "jobs", he enjoyed woodworking to its fullest, making canoes with his children and crafting gifts for family and friends. He was a man of the outdoors, whether he was working, hunting or fishing, he wanted to be on the go. The shirt or hat Conley wore often told Kentucky and the kids what he'd been doing or where he'd been working that day. Conley is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kentucky Gould; daughter, Darcy LeSiege and husband Tim; son, Conley "Bud" Gould III and wife Alexis; grandchildren, Timothy Burke Jr, Jonathan Burke, Tatyana O'Donnell, Erika Greenleaf, Zachary LeSiege; great grandchildren, Neveah Burke, Evelyn-Alice Burke, Annabelle Burke, Sophia Greenleaf, Jaleigh Greenleaf and Lincoln O'Donnell; father, Conley Gould Sr.; sisters, Jean Steeves and Betty Lou Carrier; brother, Robert Gould and wife Betty; mother in law, Farrilyn Chase; brothers in law, Kenric Charles and wife Cynthia, Mike Chase and wife Donna, Jeff Chase and wife Cindy, Andrew Chase and wife Tami, Jerry Chase and wife Sherry; in addition, Conley leaves behind aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends, including many special sons and daughters, Kevin, Moe, Sherry, Andy, Sylvia, Norman, Matt, Aaron, Megan and others that called him "Dad", "Pops", "Pappy", "Conpop", and "Mahtha". He is predeceased by his mother, Glennis Gould; father-in-law, Meredith Chase; brothers in law, Walter Steeves and Marc Carrier; special son, Raymond Williams and other friends and family members that he cherished. The family would like to give a special thank you to everyone that reached out the days leading up to Conleys passing as well as the staff at Andwell Hospice House, Fresenius Kidney Care and the VA Medical Center.
