Obituary

Jay - Curt Parker, 71, passed away early September 23, 2025, at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Farmington, Maine, on September 24, 1953, the son of Albert "Sonny" Parker and Joan Hurd. He lost his birth mom at a young age and was raised by his stepmother, Ruth. Growing up in Dryden, he attended Wilton Academy and graduated from Mt. Blue High School Class of 1971. He married Joan Slovak the following year, and they settled in North Jay, where they raised their three children. Curt's painting career spanned over 50 years, during which he operated his own business, Parker's Painting and Paperhanging, for 35 years. Besides working hard, Curt also liked to play. He enjoyed the great Maine outdoors. You could always see him fishing and hunting around Weld, Maine. While at the Parker Camp, he always looked forward to the horn toots from family and friends at the head of Webb Lake. He shared his secret brook fishing spot with his grandsons, and he took pleasure in sharing his hunting stories with anyone who would listen—reliving all his hunts. Curt is survived by his son, Christopher Parker and his wife Heather of Lisbon; daughters, Jennifer Beaulieu and husband John of Jay, Kelly Parker and significant other J.D. Perry of Wilton; four grandsons, Parker and Connor Beaulieu and Aidan and Nolan Parker; his girlfriend of 7 years, Cher Buzzell of Farmington; his stepsister, Brenda Wheeler of Wilton; sister-in-law, Cindy Parker of Arkansas; in laws, Paul Slovak of Jay, Pauline Slovak of Jay, and Tom (Lori) Slovak of Livermore Falls; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Joan, of 44 years; his mother, father, stepmother, brother, Alan Parker; stepbrother, Paul Wheeler; as well as his in-laws, Joseph and Dora Slovak. The family would like to extend their thanks to Lindy Childs, a loyal friend, and the White Avenue neighbors, notably Randy Smith and Claire Fournier. The family would also like to thank Cher for her loving care of Curt. Per Curt's wishes, there will be no funeral services. Arrangements are under the care of Dan and Scott's Cremation and Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington Maine, where memories, photos and condolences may be shared at dsfuneral.com.
