Embden– Daniel Earl Longley, age 81, passed away October 28, 2025, surrounded by loving family. Born September 30, 1944, in Skowhegan Maine, the son of Richard Longley and Cora (Calway) Longley, where he was raised in The Forks.
Daniel worked for Anson Stick Mill from 1963 to 1998 as a saw filer and supervisor. He then worked for King and Bartlett Sporting Camp as a caretaker and jack of trades. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved reading historical non-fictions. Daniel possessed a quirky personality and sense of humor. He was the author of several limericks (most of which could not be recited in mixed company).
Daniel was predeceased by his parents, Richard H. Longley and Cora F. (Calway) Longley; children, Thadius L. Longley and Daryl R. Longley; and his brother, John R. Longley.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet F. (Viles) Longley; his children, Darren Longley and wife Deborah (Chu) Longley, Tobie D. Longley and wife Sharon (Hanson) Longley, Travis W. Longley and wife Terry (Poissonnier) Longley, Tanya (Longley) Belanger and husband Damian Belanger; 19 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren; his sisters Holly Cianchette, and Linda Hayden and husband Jim.
