Vienna - Dennis L Adams, of Vienna, Maine, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, at the age of 72.
Born to Joyce and Roland Adams, he was raised in Wilton alongside his siblings Sandy, Ricky, Cindy, Lori, Danny, and Randy. Growing up in a family with limited means, he learned the value of hard work, perseverance and hell raising early in life. He left school at a young age to support himself, beginning a lifetime responsibility and determination that would define much of his life.
Throughout the years, he worked locally for various employers most notably at Bass and the Tannery, where he earned the respect of his coworkers and developed many lasting friendships. He was known for his strong work ethic, willingness to lend a hand, and how to have fun times and laughter with those around him.
Family was important to him. While not all of the children he loved were his by birth, he proudly stepped into the role of father and did the best he knew how to provide guidance, support, and care. He leaves behind Lisa, Linda, Mike, Michele, Albert, Steve, Shanna, and Tristan, all of whom knew him as Dad, Stepdad or Grandpa and were touched by his presence in their lives. He also played an important role in his grandchildren and great grandchildren's lives. He was not always traditional or had the right words - but he loved each very deeply.
One of the greatest joys of his life was his relationship with his beloved wife, Cricket. Their bond was one built on love, companionship, and devotion. Since Cricket's passing nearly two years ago, he deeply missed her. Though he carried on, those who knew him understood that a part of his heart went with her. It brings comfort to think of them reunited once again.
In his younger years, he loved going to horse races, playing poker on a Friday night, and he loved to read paperback Westerns. As he got a bit older, he sure loved a good TV show (Westerns, NASCAR, the Voice) and reminiscing about the "good ole' days".
For most of his life, Dennis faced serious health challenges that would have stopped most people. Time and time again, he fought his way back from life threatening illness and setbacks that seemed impossible to overcome. Though his journey was not always easy, he faced life's challenges head on. He simply did not have any fight left in him and was ready to spend eternity with Cricket, Smokie, Deserae (daughter) and many beloved family members and friends that went before.
He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly, friends that respected him and generations of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren that he loved dearly and will continue to carry on his legacy. May he rest peacefully.
