Farmington – Douglas J. Pond, age 74, passed away, May 4, 2026. Born August 9, 1951, to C. Frank Pond and Esther James and raised by his loving parents, Beverly Pond and Frank Pond; alongside his siblings, Mary Nelson (Skip) and Randy Pond. Douglas graduated in 1969 from Livermore Falls High School. In 1985 he met the love of his life, Nancy (Bagnulo). Together they lived in Farmington and raised four children. Doug worked for RSU #9 as a school custodian for more than 20 years and retired in December 2019. Along with his wife, Doug was a dedicated steward of Fairbanks Union Church. He enjoyed letterboxing with his Maine letterboxing family, naming his plants, taking cruises, vacationing in Myrtle Beach, and spending time with his family. "Bumpa" loved his 7 grandchildren, who were the apples of his eye along with his grand-dogs, Finn and Jax. Douglas is survived by his wife, Nancy (Bagnulo) Pond, of 41 years; his four children, Kimberly Pease (Dennis), Christopher Gordon (Jenn), Katie Hoedl (Tony), and Andrew Pond (Frank), and 7 grandchildren, Ashlynn Pease (Tyler), Deven Pease, Abby Pease, Elizabeth Gordon, Benjamin Hoedl, Meghan Hoedl, and Charlotte Gordon. He is also survived by his siblings, Mary and Randy, along with his many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents. Visiting hours will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday May 9, 2026, with a funeral service starting at 12:00 pm, located at the Fairbanks Union Church, 583 Fairbanks Road, Farmington Maine. A graveside service at 1:30 pm will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Farmington.
