Farmington - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Frank Edward Festa, Sr., who departed this life on June 6, 2025, just weeks shy of his 88th birthday. Born on July 4, 1937, Frank grew up in Hull, Massachusetts, where he also welcomed his first three children with his first wife. He later settled in Pembroke, where he and his beloved wife, Maria Festa, raised their family. A proud Navy veteran, Frank lived a life defined by service, hard work, and deep devotion to those he loved. Frank was a passionate fan of the Boston Bruins and New England Patriots, and a lifelong lover of sports who never missed a game. He owned and operated a successful construction business, leaving a legacy of craftsmanship and grit. In retirement, Frank and Maria made their home in Farmington, Maine, where they embraced small town life—volunteering at the local food pantry, staying active at the gym, and forming lasting friendships in their community. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Maria; his first wife, Myrna; and his parents, Enrico and Mabel Festa. He is survived by his sister, Alice Fitsimmons; seven children—Kim Mills, John Festa, Dina Carter, Ildi Rice, Amy Schiess, Frank Edward Festa, Jr., and Tony Festa—and by his many deeply cherished grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy as well as many nieces and nephews. A graveside service, honoring the life of Frank Edward Festa Sr., will be held on Jul 2, 2025, at 11:15 am at the Bourne National Cemetery in Bourne Massachusetts. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Pongratz family home, 816 Circuit Street, Hanover, Massachusetts 02339 at 1:30 pm. All are welcome. Frank will be remembered for his humor, generosity, strength, and the unwavering love he had for his family and friends. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his legacy lives on in all who were fortunate to know him.
