Phillips – Franklin R. Huntington, age 87, passed away on September 5, 2024. Franklin was born on May 22, 1937, the son of Ellery F. Huntington and Jennie B. (Skeetup) Huntington. Franklin was born in Madrid Maine, which is where he spent most of his childhood. He later graduated from Phillips High School.
Franklin was a lumberman. He worked hauling lumber for Malcolm Webber and then worked at Hammond Lumber for a time. He loved knitting, specially making beautiful dishcloths that he would hand out as gifts. He also enjoyed trips to ports to see the lighthouses. Franklin was a man of God, where he attended the Reeds Mill Church in Phillips. He was also active in the Phillips Area Community Center (PACC).
Franklin is predeceased by his parents, Ellery and Jennie Huntington; his sister, Elsie; and his nephew, Kenneth. He is survived by his love, Diana McCall and her sons, Mike and Will McCall; stepsister, Gladys Mains; niece, Waneta; great niece's, Roselie and Janessa; a nephew, Sonny; and many friends.

A graveside service will be held on October 12, 2024, at 11:00 am, at Dunham Cemetery in Madrid. A gathering with refreshments will follow located at the Phillips Area Community Center.
