Auburn - Gertrude May Gilbert, 81, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025, at the Clover Health Care Facility in Auburn, Maine. Gertrude May Gilbert, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Collins) Clark, was born on June 17,1943. On July 26, 1969, she married David Gilbert in Dryden Maine. Gertrude was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved animals and had several cats and dogs she was very fond of over the years. She also enjoyed going for rides, knitting and doing crafts, playing cards, and fishing. She will be fondly remembered by her family and friends for always being there to help others out when needed and her great sense of humor. Gertrude is survived by her husband of 56 years, David Gilbert of Auburn, Maine; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a few cousins; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Humphrey, Marie Corbett, and Maxine Gilbert; her brother, Joe Clark; and her two beloved sons, Clarence Bucknam Jr. and Edward Bucknam. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 1 pm, at the Farmington Elks Lodge, 120 School St., in West Farmington.
