Marston

Obituary

Isaac Marston passed away on the property he owned in Avon, ME on Sunday July 27, 2025, at 37 years old. He was born February 12, 1988, in the midst of a snowstorm, the fourth child of Bruce and Susan Marston. His best friend was his brother, Peter. He had a pleasant joyful personality, despite many health issues, including juvenile epilepsy, cancer, and a major construction accident. Isaac was an adventurous soul, who loved being outdoors and found peace in nature. His many adventures included completing the Appalachian Trail one and a half times, over-hiking each time, and traveling solo across the western US. He even refashioned a small car into a "camper" and lived in it the whole winter! He also did overnight winter hiking, and so much more. He was an incredible artist in many forms, including photography, woodworking, and painting. He produced many paintings over a period of approximately 10 years. He also was always setting up "scenes" with knick-knacks he had collected. He was a great one to give little gifts that he saw and thought the other would like. He is predeceased by his grandparents Edgar and Irene Marston of West Peru, Maine and Bruce and Dorothy Baker of Wisconsin, and his Aunt Betty Marston of Wilton. He will be greatly missed by many and is survived by his parents Bruce and Susan Marston; siblings Ed Marston, Dorothy Kinchen, Peter Marston, Thomas and Allison Marston, Elsie and Caleb Johnson; nieces and nephews Emily, Kaleb, and Olivia Kinchen, and Preston Marston; uncle Joe and Laura Marston from Wilton; multiple relatives in Wisconsin and Indiana; many close neighbors including Buddy Bachelder, Tony and Amanda Pinkham, Will and Carrie Barker, Vanessa and Trey Cote; and many loving Friends. He lives on through his connection to nature, which many who knew him shared. His spirit can still be found there, in the stillness of the wild places where he always belonged. And more tangibly through the numerous paintings and other gifts that he so generously gave to the ones he cared about. A celebration of his life will be held at the Town of Avon Municipal Building (1116 Rangeley Rd, Avon, Maine 04966) on September 7th at 1:00. All are welcome! A second service will be held at East Auburn Baptist Church, 560 Park Ave., Auburn, on Saturday, September 27th at 11:00. All are also welcome there. Arrangements are under the care of Dan and Scott's Cremation and Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington, Maine, where memoires, photos and condolences may be shared at dsfuneral.com.
