Mexico – James Michael (Jimmy) Burgess, age 67, passed away on November 7, 2024, at his home in Mexico Maine. James was born in Rumford Maine on February 7, 1957. The son of Arland R. Burgess Sr. and Eva M. (Turbide) Burgess. James spent his childhood in Mexico Maine and graduated from Mexico High School with the class of 1975. On July 12, 1975, James married Susie Martson in his hometown. He worked for the State of Maine Department of Transportation as a line striper. James was a member of the Eagles Club. He enjoyed the outdoors. Some of his favorite outdoor activities included hunting, fishing and snowshoeing. James also loved spending time with family. James is predeceased by his father, Arland Burgess Sr.; his brother, Arland Burgess Jr.; and his grandson, Michael Burgess Jr. He is survived by his wife, Susie (Marston) Burgess; his sons, Michael Burgess and children, of Rumford, James (Jay) Burgess and wife Justine and their children, all of Mexico, and Brandon Burgess and children, of Mexico; his daughter, Brandy Lynn Burgess and children of Mexico; his mother, Eve (Turbide) Burgess; his brothers, Torey Burgess and Matthew Burgess; and his sisters, Robin Burgess and Sharon Burgess.
