Strong – Jason A. Pillsbury passed away unexpectedly from this earth into the arms of Jesus on March 3, 2026. He was born in Farmington, Maine at Franklin Memorial Hospital on September 2, 1984, to parents, John A. Pillsbury and Nadene (Mitchell) Pillsbury. He grew up in Strong and attended local schools. He graduated from Mt. Abram High School in 2003. He married Jessica Huntoon on June 16, 2007. He was a dad to Emily, Tyson, and stepson, Dalton.
At a very young age he was taking things apart and putting them back together. He was employed locally for a while and then followed in his dad's footsteps to become self-employed. He was self-taught and skilled in his profession as a heavy equipment mechanic and welder. He could diagnose and fix a problem with a listen and a look. Everyone who knew him and even acquaintances who heard about his skills knew there wasn't anything impossible for him to fix or weld.
He was an avid hunter, as was his dad. He loved the woods and had many special hunting spots. He instilled the love of hunting in his children and perpetuated that love into his siblings after their dad's passing in 2003. Jason felt that the eve before hunting day opened was like a child's excitement on Christmas Eve, but better!
Jason loved to ice fish and did several trips to Moosehead over the years. He could be found on the ice at Porter Lake, and his most recent trip was to Skootic. Camp was a special place. Porter lake camp, Bruce's camp, Beedy's camp, and T-6 camp, to name a few. It was always a good time. One of his favorite events was the Freeman 500 at Beedy's camp.
In recent years, he experienced peaceful freedom on his motorcycle and rode as much as he could, as early and as late into the season as he could. He loved going on "the rides" with friends in a large group or small group or just solo.
Jason was always up for a get together. Hag-Fest on Old Home Days was one of his favorites. Always the life of the party. He could grill steak like it was nobody's business. Heineken or Twisted Tea were the going beverages for him most of the time, but when the hagaritas came around he didn't hesitate.
His heart expanded further than the east, west, north, and south. His love and compassion out measured the depth of any ocean. The phrases, "givva some", and "full throttle" depicted his tenacity. Jason didn't mince words. His laughter was booming and infectious. It will never fade. When he sang, his voice was far above karaoke quality! Many can attest to that! He loved music, from country to classic rock to heavy metal. Jason whistled – a lot.
Anyone who truly knew Jason knows how deeply he loved his family and how fiercely he cared for them. They were his world and his reason for everything. If you were a friend, it didn't matter how long it had been since seeing you; it was like no time had passed.
The Battle: It was never intended to become one. It was multi-layered. He was in a fight with an evil liar. That darkness no longer has him. This space without him here is a gaping wound by which healing will come every time we remember him and speak his name. He will never be forgotten – it's impossible. He was epic.
Jason is predeceased by his father, John A. Pillsbury; maternal grandparents, Brud and Lorraine (Baston) Mitchell; Paternal grandparents; John Sr. and Norene (McCormick) Pillsbury; father-in-law, Randall G. Huntoon; brother-in-law, Randall L Huntoon; along with several great aunts and uncles.
Jason is survived by his wife, Jessica Huntoon Pillsbury; his children, Emily, Tyson, and step-son, Dalton Walker; his mother, Nadene Mitchell Pillsbury and step-father, Bob Neal; mother-in-law, Louise and step father-in-law, Donnie Littlefield; siblings, Tom Pillsbury, Abigail McLaughlin and her husband, Corey McLaughlin; step-sister, Danielle Ross and her husband, Spencer Ross; nephews, Johnathan McLaughlin, Jaxson and Maverick Pillsbury; niece, Nora Pillsbury; maternal uncle, Steven Mitchell; maternal aunts, Dori Mitchell James (Kevin) and Stephanie Mitchell Rizzo (Mike); paternal aunts, Sue Pillsbury Paul and Kristie Pillsbury Backus; great aunts, Joyce Keefe and Clarice Stinchfield; special uncle and aunt, Raymond and Marsha Nile; several cousins; and life-long best friends, (you know who you are); and many other people whose lives he touched, but the list is too long to mention here.
Jason is to be remembered. You should be compelled to do so. Life can change in an instant. Love and live……... on and with…… purpose! Reach out. Be epic.

This event will start with breakfast at 9:00 am and continue into the evening with a bonfire to close. As his children said, "it needs to be a party; with karaoke and a bonfire" See you there!
