John Philip French of Readfield, ME, passed away December 20, 2023. John was 67 years old. He was born on Hamilton Air Force Base, in Novato, CA, February 9th, 1956, the son of Philip Dean French and Jane Longley French (Longley). John was a gifted artist and creator from childhood. He attended the Paier College of Art in Bridgeport, CT, won numerous awards, and went on to be an independent artist and illustrator. He dabbled in all mediums, loved making contraptions, and had a knack for making what was old, new again. His self-crafted birthday and Christmas cards were always special. Later in life he found another passion in Emergency Medical Services in Connecticut and Kansas City, Missouri. He lived the beauty of art and the intensity of life saving care. Through his work as a paramedic, John developed a hope for compassion to those who suffer from PTSD. He retired to Maine where he enjoyed the family camp and peacefulness. He was predeceased in death by his parents Philip, and Jane French. He is survived by his brothers David, Richard, and Peter; as well as 7 nieces and nephews; and 5 grand nieces and nephews. He will be forever remembered and loved, living an everlasting life through his art. John would welcome donations in his name to The Code Green Campaign.
