Obituary

Phillips – Joyce C, Berry, passed away peacefully December 17, 2024, at Pinnacle Home and Rehab in Canton Maine after a year's long battle with Parkinson's. Joyce was born January 10, 1948, in Rumford Maine. The daughter of Roger and Laura Brown. She grew up in Peru Maine with one sister and three brothers. Joyce was a very busy stay-at-home mom, always making breakfast for Lisa and Eric before they went off to school. She was a bookkeeper for George Berry Logging and a part time bookkeeper for Harry Gordon Logging. Joyce loved working with numbers, and she was great at it. She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, Rebekahs Lodge – Independent Order of Odd Fellows Organization, and coached a girls drill team, Theta Rho Girls. Joyce enjoyed making and decorating cakes for people, especially during the holidays. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, feeding her birds and watching her Gunsmoke and John Wayne movies. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Lisa Berry and significant other Todd Ladd of Wilton; granddaughter, Miranda Baxter and her fiancé Zak of New Portland; grandson, Nicholas Berry of Phillips; a great grandson, Eric Stanley Berry II; her brothers, Robert Brown and wife Brenda of Peru, David Brown and significant other, Lisa Thebarge of Rumford; sister, Louis Brown and significant other, Greg of Rumford; aunt, Brenda Swan; nephews, Dan Brown of Turner, Brandon Gorham of Massachusetts; and first cousins, Zanedria Grisson and Gail Belyea. Joyce is predeceased by her parents, Roger and Laura Brown; son, Eric Stanley Berry; brother, Harland Brown; and nephew, Jason D. Brown. Joyce requested no services be held. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff on the North Wing at Pinnacle Home and Rehab and the Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice team.
