Warren - Kathie Lynn Simpson Ouellette died on December 9th, 2025, after a long battle with several chronic health conditions. She was born in Rockland and summered on the remote island of Criehaven through her childhood. She was the youngest daughter of Neil and Winnifred (Whitman) Simpson, and one of 5 siblings.

Kathie was creative and outgoing, she enjoyed drawing, painting, singing, cooking and gardening. She played guitar and sang, which was a talent she shared with her dad and family.

Growing up on the island fostered a down-to-earth attitude and lifestyle. She loved thrifting and recycling, a hobby she passed down to her children. She collected old bottles, shells, and buoys and loved trinkets that reminded her of the island.

She loved animals and throughout her life had many pets, enjoying dogs, cats, birds, and bunnies. Her latest companion Barney, an orange tabby cat, was her favorite and kept her great company in the last difficult years of her illness.

She worked as a cook throughout her career in Midcoast Maine in multiple restaurants, including The Landings and The Navigator. She was skilled at catering and cooked for larger groups at the Rockland Golf Club, Knox County Jail and a for a brief time at Midcoast Hospital when she moved to the Bath area for a few years. She even tried her hand at running her own small business and operated Kat’s Kitchen in Rockland.

She is survived by her three children, Stephenie Pinkham of Georgetown, Heather Norris of South Portland, and Dustin Stimpson of Rockland; her four siblings, Paula Moore, Joyce Hill and her husband Frank, Dorothy Simpson, and Eric Simpson and his wife Kimberly; her grandchildren, Wyatt, Henry and Anna Pinkham, Miles and Elizabeth Norris, and Dustin Jr. and Isabelle Stimpson; also many nieces and nephews. A service will occur this spring in the Midcoast area.
