Wilton – Kenneth B. Waite, 92, passed away at home surrounded by his family in Wilton on May 23, 2024. He was born in Norton MA on February 1, 1932. He was the son of Burton and Gertrude (Russell) Waite.
He grew up on a farm in Norton, went to school in Norton and had the nick name of "COWBOY". After school he married his former wife of 69 years, Helen (Weber) Waite. Kenneth liked traveling across the country, going south for the winters and day trips around Maine in the summers. He loved Moosehead, Jackman area. He loved fishing and hunting.
Kenneth was a jack of all trades. In his younger years he worked in a jewelry shop day's and made jewelry at home during the night. He built most of their homes and built travel campers and a cabin cruiser. We spent many years on Cape Cod in summers.
Later in life he had a hobby farm and was a selectman for Dixfield for three years. He drove tractor trailer for many years. He was also a member of the member of the MBBA on the cape.
For some, he was their hero, for his children, he was their rock.
Kenneth was predeceased by his brothers, David Waite and Roger Waite; his mother, Gertrude; his dad, Burton; his stepmother who he loved dearly, Emma Waite and a granddaughter, Susan Wheeler.
He is survived by his daughters, Helen and her husband Allen Wilson, Luanne and her husband Robert Witt, Merry (Mary) Waite; five grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren; also, many nieces and nephews.
The family wants to thank the Beacon Hospice House, especially Lori, Nikki and Brandi for taking such great care of daddy in his last days.
Per Kenneth's wishes there will be no services.
