Kristina Louise McNulty, born January 1953, raised in Westwood, Massachusetts, fought a 5-year courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. She passed away next to her loving and devoted husband of 49 years on January 5th, 2024, at her home in Rangeley, Maine.
Daughter of Norman Neilson and Vida (Harrison) Neilson, of Westwood, Massachusetts. A graduate of Westwood High School, 1971, and The New England Baptist School of Nursing, Boston, Massachusetts, 1976. Kristina followed in her mother's footsteps and spent her career as a Registered Nurse. She worked at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, North Shore University Hospital in Long Island, New York, Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, New Hampshire, and numerous hospitals throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. She finished her career providing In Home Healthcare in The Dallas/Fort Worth metro area and as a private duty nurse to handicap children in the Charlotte, North Carolina Schools. Tina lived in many states throughout the country. She made numerous lifelong friends along the way. She was a "hockey mom", a "swimmer mom", a "karate mom", a "dance mom", and every other kind of mom who was devoted to her children. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren. She was their beloved "Mimi" to Allison, Austin, Harper, and McKenzie. She loved them with all her heart, and they absolutely adored her. She retired to the shores of Lake Mooselookmeguntic, Rangeley, Maine, her long-time happy place! In her retirement years, she enjoyed snowmobiling, chasing bird dogs through the Maine woods, boating, and enjoying life with her husband Jack, and anything that her precious grandchildren were involved in.
She is predeceased by her parents, Norman, and Vida Neilson; her sister, Elinor; and her niece, Amy Krug Richard.
She is survived by her husband, Jack, of Rangeley, Maine; son, Sean McNulty, and his wife, Jennifer McNulty, both of Naperville, Illinois; her daughter, Meghan Bull, and husband Ryan Bull, both of Boerne, Texas; grandchildren, Allison and Harper McNulty, of Naperville, Illinois, Austin and McKenzie Bull, of Boerne, Texas; her sister, Karen Krug and husband David Krug, of Winthrop, Maine; brother in law, Paul McNulty and wife Cindy, of Wakefield, Massachusetts; sister in law, Kathleen Lyons and husband Michael, of West Roxbury, Massachusetts, sister in law, Maureen Farbstein, of New York, New York.
At her wishes, a celebration of life will be held this summer with her ashes spread across her happy place. It is my hope that someday an effective screening method for Ovarian Cancer will be achieved through continued research. I would sincerely appreciate any level of donations to "The Jane Fund". This fund was created in honor of Jane Peveraro, wife of my good friend Jim Peveraro, who lost his wife to the same cancer that stole my wife from me.
