Cumberland - Leslie Irvin (Les) Clark of Cumberland, Maine passed away September 4, 2026. Les was born August 10, 1933, in Orland, Maine, the son of George T. Clark and Blanch G. (Shorey) Clark. The family moved to Portland in 1943 and he attended Portland schools. He served in the US Air Force from 1953 to 1956, during the Korean War. After discharge he worked for three national companies: Marchant Calculators, Frieden Inc., and The Standard Register Co. After attending training for these companies, he worked in sales and service of business data processing machines, business forms, and systems. During this time, he lived in several greater Portland communities including South Portland, Windham, Scarborough, and Gorham.

He retired in 1990 and built his beloved retirement home in Madrid Township, Maine. He lived there until 2025. He met many wonderful people and made many friendships.

He is survived by his sons, Wayne L. Clark and partner Kim of Durham, Maine, and Alan G. Clark and wife Linda of Chattanooga, Tennessee; his daughter, Renee L. Emery and husband Lewis of Windham, Maine; his six grandchildren; Jeremiah and Alyssa (Wayne), Jason & Jennifer (Alan), and Michael and Zachary (Renee). He also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren, Caden, Callie, Alice, Fiona, Wilson, Oliver, Remy, and Rhett.

Leslie also wished to acknowledge his two wonderful wives. First, a 30+ year marriage to the mother of his children, Patricia Anne Pellett, followed by a marriage to Beverly (King) Quirk. Both predeceased him along with his parents, George and Blanche.

A private family burial will take place at the Maine Veteran’s Cemetery in Augusta Maine.
