Obituary

Linda's love for singing began in church and then transpired into a life-long career and recreation.

Zephyrhills FL - Linda J. Howard, age 77, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, with family by her side.

Linda was born on December 6, 1948, in Farmington, Maine, and was raised in New Vineyard, where she built the strong values and faith that guided her throughout her life. She attended Roosevelt Grammar School in New Vineyard and graduated from Farmington High School, class of 1966. After many years in Maine, she retired to Zephyrhills, Florida, where she enjoyed warmth, friendships, and the next chapter of her life.

A woman of deep faith, Linda's love for God was the foundation of her life. Linda’s love for singing began in church and then transpired into a life-long career and recreation. She found great joy in singing and performing, blessing countless people with her beautiful voice. She had her own country music band and early in her career was awarded the Downeast Female Country Vocalist Award. Whether in church or among family and friends, her music brought comfort, happiness, and inspiration. Linda was known for her kind heart, unwavering devotion to those she loved, and her ability to make everyone feel like family. She was a loyal friend to many—too many to name individually—but each one held a special place in her heart.

Linda is lovingly survived by her son, Steven Withee; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Withee; her grandchildren, Ross Withee and Emma Withee; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Izzaiah Withee, Brock Withee, and Zarrah Slimm. She is also survived by her sisters, Susan Lisherness and Judy Smith; her brother-in-law, Jonathan Lisherness; her brother, Keith Howard; many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; also, dear friends in Maine and Florida.

Her music brought comfort, happiness, and inspiration.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kristi Withee; her husband, Robert Weese; her granddaughter, Hannah Withee; her mother, Marjorie (Heath) Howard; her father, Raymond Howard; her brother, Jerry Howard; and her sisters, Dinah (Howard) Kidd and Sandra (Howard) Bestwick.

Linda's legacy is one of faith, love, music, friendship, and family. She leaves behind countless memories that will continue to bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery in Madison, Maine. The date and time will be announced later, with a celebration of Linda's life to follow.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice in knowing that Linda is now singing in the presence of her Lord. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Linda's legacy is one of faith, love, music, friendship, and family.
