Louise Libby, born on November 12, 1935, in Dixfield, Maine, was a character of wit and a sharp tongue to all who knew her. She passed away on May 26, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of good humor, humility, and love for her community that will be remembered by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her children, Herbert (Terry) Davis, Wendy Rae Libby, and Sherry Bennett Burroughs. She is the last of 4 siblings and was predeceased by Melvin Therriault, Cindy Lynch, and Margret Davis. Louise found her employment niche as a Certified Nursing Assistant and was employed at both Sandy River Nursing Home and Orchard Park until her retirement. She continued to visit friends and staff in the facility well after retirement and had a high regard for that field of work. Throughout her life, Louise was an active member of her community in Phillips, Maine, where she resided and a long-time member of the Phillips Congregational Church. If you knew Louise, you were likely to get "harassed" and more than likely to receive a quick retort that brought a good laugh. She is survived by her son Wendall Libby, his children, Alec Libby, Gordon Libby and Deliah Libby, her daughter Karen and husband Michael Henderson and grandson Colby Gilchrist, his partner Mariah Kendall and great granddaughter, Juniper Gilchrist, and special nieces in West Virginia, Patty White and Susie Gay and Philip Davis and his wife Diane of Carmel.
