Madrid-Margaret (Peg) Stapel Balduf, 77, of Madrid passed away December 24th, 2023. Peg, born in Concord, MA, December 25, 1945, was the daughter of Hugo Sr. and Mary (Knowles) Stapel. She was a graduate from Harvard High School, raised a family, worked for many years, and retired from the Haartz Corporation. Peg loved her family, friends, community, and her cats the most. She was active in her community with the Madrid Historical Society, an avid reader, and enjoyed giving back to the community through fireworks celebrations. She is survived by her sons, Shayne and Kirk; grandson, Bradley; and daughter-in-law, Alecia. She was predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) Balduf of 59-years. Peg and Bill were always known for their fun stories and life adventures. The family will be celebrating her life on Saturday June 15th, 2024, at 2pm at Peg and Bill's home, 646 Reeds Mill Rd, Madrid, ME. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to bring stories of Peg and Bill, and that memorials be sent to the Franklin Animal Shelter.
