Rumford - Michael John Mills, age 70 of Rumford Maine passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, after a battle with cancer. Michael was born on December 14, 1955, to Roger and Dorothy Mills of Andover Maine.

After graduating from Telstar High School in 1974, Michael worked for the Town of Rumford and then later was the owner of Michael J Mills Landscaping in Rumford for 30 years.

Outside of work, Michael enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time on the water. Michael married Peggy Dewar of Byron, Maine on September 10,1977.

Michael is survived by his wife Peggy, son Troy Mills, his grandson Gavin Mills and his siblings, Roger Mills, Karen Vachon, Peggy Madigan, Tricia Cox, Melinda Averill, Chris Mills, Rick Mills, Leslie Jamison, Phil Mills, and Brian Mills.

A Celebration of Life to be held in Andover Maine on August 22, 2026, at the Andover Town Hall from 11am-3pm
