Wilton – Michelle Bernadette McIntire of Wilton, Maine, passed away on April 15, 2026, at the age of 56, surrounded by the love of those who knew her best. Michelle was born on January 20, 1970, in Boston, Massachusetts at St. Margaret's Hospital.
Michelle was the beloved wife of Christopher McIntire, with whom she shared 31 years of marriage, something she held closest to her heart and was deeply proud of. Their love story began early, and at the age of 18, Michelle left Boston to follow the love of her life to Maine. It was in Maine that she and Christopher built their home and life together. "Right deah" Maine was not just where she lived, it was home to her. Every time she returned to Maine, she would welcome herself back. Although she settled in Maine, she was Boston through and through. Raised in Dorchester, tough, street smart, full of heart, and shaped by where she came from in a way that never left her.
She was the proud and devoted mother of Landon Evan McIntire and Whitney Ireland McIntire, both of whom were the center of her world and her greatest source of pride. She will always be with them, guiding them and loving them, because that kind of love and loyalty simply does not go away.
Michelle was one of 6 sisters, the daughters of Edward J. Noonan and Mary E. (Watson) Noonan. She was the third born, joining her sisters, Lynne Anne (Noonan) Stukus, Donna Marie Noonan, Denise (Noonan) Thomas, Kerry Anne (Noonan) Carrasquillo, and Kelly Anne Noonan. The bond she shared with her sisters was lifelong, deep and unbreakable.
She was the best wife, best sister and best mother! She was a cherished aunt to 15 nieces and nephews, a great aunt to 6 and a great great aunt to 1. Her love extended widely and fiercely across her family. Michelle carried so much of both her parents within her. She was her mother's twin in more ways than just appearance, and like her father, she had a natural gift for storytelling and writing. Her wit was unmatched; sarcasm was her love language, and it was legendary! She was sharp, proud and unapologetically herself.
Her long black hair was her signature and the crown she wore without ever needing to say it. "The queen who wore the crown, our Michelle". If Michelle loved you, you knew it. She was fiercely loyal and protective. The kind of person who would not hesitate to stand up for those she loved. She was, and always will be, the one who had your back.
She shared a special and loving bond with her mother-in-law, Cheryl Myles and her husband, Artie. She is also, lovingly remembered by her father-in-law, D. Evan McIntire and his wife, Maria; and brother-in-law, Jason McIntire and his wife Bridget, who held a special place in her heart and were part of the family she cherished so much.
Michelle leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
