Richard E. Wilcox (Bill), 93, of Avon died on June 29th, 2025.
He was born May 15th, 1932, in Dallas Plantation. He was the son of Everett A. Wilcox and Evelyn Wilcox. He was educated in Avon schools. He married Phebe Phillips on October 30th, 1949, in Avon.
He started off working in the woods and driving horses for his father. Then spent years working for local people driving and maintaining heavy equipment. He worked at Forsters manufacturing in Strong. He also spent time working for the town plowing and maintaining roads. Overall, he was a jack of all trades.
His favorite place to spend time was at his home on Mt. Blue. He enjoyed hunting and going exploring with his 4-wheeler and side-by-side, family gatherings, and time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also loved sharing memories of his life adventures throughout the years.
Richard is survived by his 3 sons: Scott, Lance, and Dale Wilcox; his 2 daughters Candy and Belle Wilcox; as well as 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his wife, Phebe Wilcox, his son Everett (Duff) Wilcox, his 2 sisters Ruby and Winona Wilcox, and 1 granddaughter Michelle Wilcox.
There will be a celebration of life on September 6th, 2025, at 1 PM at the Avon Town Hall.
