Obituary

Robert Raymond Pillsbury 1st, 87, passed away on August 10, 2023, in Jay, Maine. He was born on February 16, 1936, in Concord, NH to the late Margret G. Potter and Albert J. Hinds. Robert was a loving, compassionate, humorous, mischievous, brave, tenacious, and adventurous individual. He had a vibrant personality that touched the lives of those around him. Robert is survived by his beloved daughters and son , Beatrice A. Litchfield, Tina-Marie R. Pillsbury, Helen S. Kelley, Bryan E. Walker, Lisa J. Kendall, and Bobbi Ann Pillsbury. He is also survived by, and his brothers, Roger Stevens, Raymond Stevens and Arthur Stevens .He is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Eva A. Carson, his daughter Vicki L. Pillsbury, his first wife, Beatrice V. Reed and grandson Robert R Pillsbury 2nd. In his educational journey, Robert attended Spaulding Youth Center in Tilton, NH for primary school and Winnisquam Regional High School in Tilton, NH for high school. Robert proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard for eight years, serving in both the NH 197th and ME 703rd units. His dedication to duty and his fellow comrades was unwavering. Throughout his career, Robert worked as a pharmacy assistant at Loyd's Pharmacy Rockland, Me., an orderly at the NH State Hospital, a guard at the NH State Prison, and in the shipping department at Pitco. Outside of his professional life, Robert had a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cribbage, poker, and bingo. He also had a deep appreciation for music. His strong Faith was an example to many. A graveside service to honor and remember Robert will be held on August 19, 2023, at 10 AM at Blossom Hill Cemetery, located at 207 N. State St. in Concord, NH. Following the service, a celebration of life will take place at Crestwood Park, located at 59 Manchester St. in Concord, NH. 11am-1pm. please bring a covered dish to share. Robert Raymond Pillsbury will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. May his memory live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
