Obituary

Dixfield ME – Royal Ace Swan, 81, of Dixfield, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday August 7, 2024, with his wife by his side. Royal was born in Portland, Maine, on April 13, 1943, the son of John and Ruth (Adams) Swan. He attended Dixfield High School and graduated in 1961. He worked for International Paper Company in Jay, Maine, for more than 20 years. In 1987, he started his own business, Shiretown Tire, in Farmington, Maine, retiring in 2007. Royal was an active member of East Wilton Bible Church and enjoyed sharing his faith with friends and strangers. He was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast and loved flat track racing. He could often be found enjoying get-togethers with his children, stepchildren, and grandchildren or serving the Lord wherever there was a need. He was predeceased by his parents, John Swan and Ruth Adams Swan. Royal is survived by his wife, Vickie Luce Swan of Dixfield; son, Todd Swan of Washington State; daughter, Christa DeVega and her husband, Demian DeVega, of New London, Connecticut; step-daughter, Sara Couture and her husband Athanase Couture of New Sharon, Maine; step-son, Jacob Bates of Dixfield; and daughter in law, Becky Andrewski and her spouse, Clyde of Chelsea, Maine; he also leaves behind his grandchildren, Brittany Swan, Isaiah Swan, Liz Swan, Elijah Swan and partner Mackenzie Stevens, Alex DeVega, Bradford Couture, Megan Couture, Randall Couture, and Elizabeth Couture; as well as great grandchildren, Jada James and Ollie Dubois. A Memorial Service will be held at East Wilton Bible Church on Saturday August 24, at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Mwangaza House or Camp Good News. These donations can be sent to East Wilton Bible Church, 1306 Maine Street, Wilton, ME, 04294, with a note the funds are for the Royal Swan Memorial Fund.
