Wilton - Sandy Lee Burke, born July 8, 1957, in Springfield, VT, passed away on May 27, 2025, at MaineHealth Franklin Hospital. Raised by Richard and Frances Kearley in Townshend VT.
He was a Marine veteran and spent over 30 years in law enforcement (Town of Wilton, Franklin County Sheriff Department, Border Patrol and UMF)
He is survived by his wife, Deborah; brother, Richard Kearley (Mary); sister, Patty Lyman; sons, Larry (Carmen) Burke, Timothy Burke, Michael Burke; stepchildren, Sarah (Thomas) Espeaignnette, Jamie Karlson, and Matthew (Danielle) Karlson; grandchildren, Taylor (Josh) Maloney, Caitlin Burke, Timothy Burke Jr, Jonathan Burke, Daniel and Connor Burke, Michael (Emilie) Burke Jr. and Emily Burke, TJ (Madelyn) Espeaignnette and Grace Espeaignnette, Joseph Coelho, Jared Coates, and Evelyn & Elena Karlson. Sandy also leaves behind his best friend, Kenneth Sprague.
Sandy changed so many lives for the better in so many ways, He was always willing to help anyone in need. If you ever spent time in the back seat of his cruiser, you were always treated respectfully and fair along with hearing a lecture from him. Sandy loved to go fishing and camping whenever he could. He was a very loving husband. Sandy had an amazing laugh. If he saw you walking down the street, he would always stop and help out if he could. Sandy gave 110 percent to everything in his life. Sandy was well known and loved by everyone in the community. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
The family would like to give a special thank you to everyone who reached out after Sandy's passing. A celebration of life for Sandy will be at a later date.
