Strong - It is with profound sadness that the family of Sharon Marie Carter (Nee Harris), announce her peaceful passing on the 8th of October, surrounded by her family at her home in Strong, Maine, at the age of 66. Sharon was born to Albert Ross Harris and Elizabeth Mary Harris (Nee Nutting) in Jay, Maine on December 24, 1957. Sharon married George F. Carter II on the 22 of August ,1981 at their home in Strong.
Sharon was survived by her children, Autumn Dunton, Alton Carter (Leslie), Elizabeth Renshaw (Alexander Sr); step-children, Michelle Carter, George Carter III (Aubrey); grandchildren, Michael Dunton (Michelle), Johnathan Dunton (Tiffany), Rebecca Mason (Josh), Dakota Carter, Austin Carter, Lucas Carter (Tiffany), Chris Carter, Elias Carter (Graham), Jacob Carter (Tammy), Ron Hailey(Samantha), Mellissa Hailey (Sean), Cheyenne Renshaw (Christopher), Katherine Renshaw (Nathan), Alexander Renshaw Jr., Nellie; great grandchildren, Raelynn, Gabby, Aubrey, Blake, Jerrick, Kaylin, Caydance, Alivia, Michael, Easton, Kaylee, Colton, Ava, Maddie, Ryan, Grant, Nolan; siblings, Phyllis Mason, Grace Crovanas, Rita Sargent, Albert Harris, April Grant.
She was preceded by both her parents, Albert and Elizabeth Harris; spouse; George Carter II; siblings, Bruce Harris, Leslie Harris, Calvin Harris Sr., Archie Walker, Clifton (Albert) Harris, Frank Harris.
Sharon worked at multiple convenience stores, restaurants, nursing homes, Farmington shoe, mills before opening her own business Carters Used Furniture in Jay, Maine.
Sharon was educated in the Farmington school system, returning later as an adult to get her CRMA with multiple certificates.
Sharon enjoyed spending time with family and friends camping, reading, playing cards, canning, quilting, crafting, berry picking, going to lawn sales, helping others. Beyond everything else she looked forward to the holidays especially Christmas most of all shopping all year long and decorating the entire month of December.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nursing and staff at Andwell as without their help and support it would not have been possible to keep Sharon home.
