Farmington - Shawn Lee Smith, 55, of Farmington, Maine, passed away on December 29, 2025. Shawn was born in Lewiston, Maine, to Phyllis Smith. He spent his life in Maine, where he built quiet joys around the things he loved most. Shawn had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, especially snowmobiling, which brought him both peace and excitement. When at home, he enjoyed spending time playing games on his PlayStation and could often be found relaxing in the company of dogs, for whom he had a special affection. One of Shawn's favorite places was Height of Land in Rangeley, a spot he cherished for its beauty and calm—reflecting his love for Maine's landscape and simple moments. Shawn was predeceased by his mother Phyllis Smith; and by a close friend, Janet Ryder. He is survived by two very close friends who meant the world to him: Elwyn McArthur of New Sharon and Roland Brown of Farmington, Maine. Their friendship and support were an important part of Shawn's life and will continue to honor his memory. Shawn will be remembered for his love of animals, his enjoyment of life's simple pleasures, and the loyalty he showed to those closest to him.
