Obituary

Farmington - Susan Lynn Seamon, age 65, of Farmington, passed away at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center, after a sudden battle with pneumonia. Sue was born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 25, 1960, to her parents, Russell J Matthews and Lora Pat (Maydwell). She married the love of her life, John Seamon, on June 13, 1981. Sue's most blessed and greatest achievement was the title of Mom. She was proud to hold that title and when the time came, she was even more proud to be called Grammy. In later years, Sue pursued work that brought her to McDonalds, this position led her to meet many of the people who became lifelong friends. She then became a cashier at Walmart, and all that knew her loved her for her bubbly personality, sense of humor, positive attitude and her love for God. She attended many years at the Mountain View Bible Church of New Vineyard, where she sang in the choir and earned numerous certificates through Emmaus Bible College. Many cherished moments included spending time with her grandchildren, she always loved their company and could not praise how proud she was of them. Other hobbies included one that kept her busy and allowed her to show her talent, that was her love for plastic canvas. If she could think it up, she could make it. Sue was predeceased by her father, Russell J Matthews; and nephew, Danny McClaskey of Maryland. Sue is survived by her mother, Lora Pat Matthews of Baltimore, MD; her husband of 44 years, John A Seamon of Farmington; daughter, Alysia A Nile and her husband, Aaron of Sidney; her grandchildren, Andre Nile and his companion, Lila Darling of Livermore and Aaric (Kat) Nile also of Sidney; sisters, Patti Skalinski, Terri Hanldir, Sandra Doyle; brother, Russell Matthews; along with nieces and a nephew all of Maryland. The family would like to send special thanks to the teams at MaineHealth for their God given talent that was shown during her stay. An extreme amount of gratitude to Ronica Smith for being by her side when they were not able to be. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to a charity of choice. A few that come to mind are the Shriners Children's Hospital, Diabetes Association, Cancer Society and or your local animal shelters. Sue's family extends an invitation to her Celebration of Life, Sunday November 9, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, at the West Farmington Elks Lodge.
