Obituary

Farmington – Suzanne Marie Dalrymple, born in Bangor, Maine, on March 18, 1946, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2024, in Farmington, Maine, at the age of 78. Sue was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Sue had her first job as a teen at the local hangout, The Farmington Diner, which was owned by her mother and stepfather, Hugh and Liz Stewart. She was in car sales through the '70s and '80s, and then spent the rest of her working years at another iconic Farmington establishment, F.L. Butler Restaurant, as well as The Granary, both located in town on Front Street. Serving and hosting local patrons and guests from afar with her genuine smile and easy-going demeanor, she made the job look easy. Sue loved spending time with her grandchildren, summers at Dummers Beach, and winter vacations at Ormond Beach in Florida with her husband, Paul. Sue and her girlfriends started a summer tradition of tubing down the Sandy River, where silly shenanigans and laughter always ensued. Sue is survived by her husband, Paul Dalrymple; step sister, Rosalie Perkins and husband Lloyd; sister-in-law, Sue Antone; her son, Richard Hunter and partner Christine; her daughter, Rebecca Roman and husband Jeff; her stepdaughter, Sue Veilleux and husband Bob; her stepson, Chip Dalrymple and partner Jerri; her granddaughter, Arielle Hunter and husband Cameron; her granddaughter, Danielle Hunter; her grandson, Tyler Hunter; her granddaughter, Kaitlyn Worthing and husband Keith; her grandson, Spencer Currier; her granddaughter, Emily Welch and husband Dillon; her grandson, Alex Dalrymple; her granddaughter, Olivia Dalrymple; and her seven great-grandchildren. Sue is predeceased by her parents, Sheldon and Elizabeth (McLaughlin) Antone; her son, Donald Hunter Jr.; her sister, Barbara Austin and husband Bill; her brother, Wally Antone; stepsister, Gloria Barr; and her nephews, Russell Greenwood and Warren Austin. Arrangements are under the care of Dan and Scott's Cremation and Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington, Maine, where memories, photos, and condolences may be shared at dsfuneral.com.
