Farmington -On September 22, 2025, Tammy Lynn Parsons (Forbes), moved on to her eternal home in Heaven. We know that she won the good fight of faith and is now healed and with her Savior. As she stepped into eternity, she was worshipping and praying with family by her side and is ever with the Lord.
Tammy was born in Guantanamo Bay, Cub on April 8, 1960, the daughter of Clarence (Bill) Forbes and Nellie Riordan. Their family traveled up the east coast and eventually settled in Maine in 1967. She was a 1978 graduate of Mt. Blue High School, where she met her lifetime partner and husband, Ralph Parsons. Ralph and Tammy married on December 1, 1978.
Tammy was well known locally as an entrepreneur and successful businesswoman. She was the owner of Divine Footwear and Divine Inspirations Gifts and Décor; both located in Farmington. Tammy was often recognized for her creative window displays, meticulously maintained sidewalks and her genuine care and interest in those who entered her store. She was an integral voice and contributor to the Downtown Business Association. She also enriched our local community through her work as a substitute teacher, waitress, and as an employee for G.H. Bass in Wilton, where her husband Ralph, also worked.
She was a woman of deep faith whose love for the Word of God changed her life. She impacted countless lives around her through her devotion to prayer. Her prayers were foundational to her family and those she cared for. She formed many special connections in various church communities in the Central Maine area but found her church home at Kingdom Life Church in Oakland, Maine, where she was deeply loved and valued. She served continuously over the years through prayer and ministry, children's church, hospitality, small group studies, worship, and youth ministry.
She found her greatest joy in being a devoted wife, mom and grandmother. Tammy cared deeply for her extended family and friends. She was well known for giving generously and selflessly to family and community. Where there was a need, she was quick to step in and contribute. A new pair of quality shoes was a commonly gifted item to those she loved. She enjoyed reading and studying, gardening, healthy living, going on walks, craft projects, watching Hallmark movies, worship and intercession, picking berries, and adventurous camping trips with family. She cherished her two children and invested in homeschooling both of them while making sure they had every opportunity to explore their passions in sports and music. Her interest in teaching led her to becoming a substitute teacher at Mt. Blue Middle School once her children integrated back into public school, allowing her to impact even more young lives.
Tammy was predeceased by her father, Clarence (Bill) Forbes; her mother, Nellie Riordan; father-in-law, John Parsons; mother-in-law, Sally Parsons; brother, Curtis Forbes; and brother-in-law, Allan Parsons.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Parsons of 47 years; children, Ryan Parsons and Jessica Parsons; grandchildren, Silas and Nadia; brother, Darrell Forbes (and Melissa) and their children, Dillion, Dustin, Ashlynn, and Brenna; sister, Angelica Davis (and Scott) and their children, Bethany, Megan, and Michael; sister-in-law, Renae Forbes (and Curtis) and their children, Faith, Mekayla, Caleb, and Joshua; step father, Michael Riordan (and Megan) and their daughter, Hope; sister-in-law, Patricia Milliken (and Brian) and their children, Alex and Caleb; sister-in-law, Martha McCarthy (and Tim) and their children, Alicia and Angela; sister-in-law, Paula Parsons (and Allan) and their children, Amy, Josh, and Adam; as well as many other special family members.
