Rumford – Vernon True, 82, passed peacefully at home on June 2, 2026, with his caretaker Maggie by his side. Vernon was born in Rumford Maine on April 22,1944; he has always been a resident of the area. He was predeceased by his mother Emily Sinclair Gauthier and his father Harold True, brother Larry True, sister Christine Thereau, son David True and granddaughter Amy True. Vernon's proudest moment was serving in the Navy during the Vietnam war. He worked at various jobs and delivered papers in the Mexico/Rumford area. He was a huge collector of baseball cards and never missed a game. We would like to thank Faye Spittle for all her care and dedication during this hard time. And a big shoutout to Andwell hospice team Kinder, Katie and Katelyn. Vernon thought the world of you girls. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
