PHILLIPS -
BREDEAU, WAYNE CARROLL, age 66, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2024. Wayne was born to Betty (Huntington) Bredeau and Richard Bredeau on September 2, 1957. He was born right next door to his parents' home, at his grandparent's house. Wayne was the eldest of six children. Wayne attended the Phillips schools, graduating from Mt. Abram High School, Class of '75.
Wayne was a 'homebody. He built his home on his grandparents land, started building his log cabin at the young age of 17. He loved his home, and this is where he loved to be.
Wayne bought a skidder after graduating, eventually he and his Dad had a business together - - Bredeau's Logging. After more than 30 years of this, Wayne decided to park the equipment, and worked for others, ending with the last decade working for GCA Logging of Avon. Wayne retired June 4, 2021.
His last 3 years were a joy to be able be to hunt, fish, and spend time with his children and grandchildren
Wayne married Tami (Curtis) on August 15, 1982. They had 2 children together: Colby and Casey. Wayne "adored his children." Casey had four children that were his true joy. He bragged of each one of them to everyone: Aleksis, Ansen, Camden and Hadlie.
Wayne was pre-deceased by his grandparents, Carroll and "Pet" Huntington, his parents Richard and Betty Bredeau, his aunt and uncle Lewis and Mertie Abbott, and loving cousin Aaron Holbrook, as well as his best friend, Romeo Chabot, and his father-in-law Greg Curtis.
Wayne is survived by his wife of almost 42 years, his two children Colby and Casey and their spouses, Katie and Johnathan (his special son-in-law), his 5 sisters and brothers and their spouses: Janet (Dennis), Janice, Joyce (Carroll), Ward (Andrea), and Wade (Dianne). He has many nieces and nephews as well, and his mother-in-law Sandra Curtis.
Some people called Wayne The "Mountain Man." He was a traditional man, with the best work ethic, but family aways – Came First! He loved his home, and tried to fight two cancers. The cancers won, but Wayne was able to return home and pass in peace at his log cabin.
Wayne's wife and family will be having a gathering in the near future to share memories. This will be announced time/location at a later date. Wayne chose not to have any funeral services.
