Currier
March 10, 1947 — March 14, 2026
New Sharon – It is with sadness we announce, Wayne L. Currier, age 79, passed away March 14, 2026, at home, with family by his side. Wayne was born on March 10, 1947, in Farmington, Maine, the son of Levi F. Currier and Elsa A. (Foss) Currier. Wayne attended school in Farmington and graduated from Farmington High School. In 1986 he married Janice (Burton) Currier at the Shorey Chapel in Industry. Together they raised a family, two daughters and three sons, and eventually settled in New Sharon.
Wayne spent years of his life hauling wood with his own log truck. He spent 30 years as president of the Maine Horse and Ox Association and loved to be in the pulling ring with his own team of oxen and horses.
He is predeceased by his parents, Levi and Elsa; his daughter, Carol Currier; and his brother, Richard Currier. Wayne leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Janice Currier; his son’s, Bruce Currier, Christopher Magno and Raymond Magno; his daughter, Laura Currier; sisters, Rowena Lisa and Irene Foss; also 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Wayne and his wife Janice were part of the New Hope Baptist Church. A favorite bible verse was John 3:16. “For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”
A Celebration of Life and burial will be announced later in the spring.
